I had the absolute pleasure of working with Tara for a very meaningful piece—a memorial tattoo in honor of my late mother—and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience. Tara’s artistic style and attention to detail are truly impeccable. From the moment I met her, I knew she was the right artist to bring this vision to life. She took the time to listen carefully to everything I wanted to include in the design, and her thoughtful approach ensured that every element held personal significance. Tara, in my opinion, is truly one of the best tattoo artists out there and Ottawa is so lucky to have her in the city.
Her studio is clean, comfortable and beautiful. She puts her clients at ease and is always checking in with them throughout the session. I could not be a bigger fan of Tara's amazing work than I already am! After getting a few tattoos over the years from random artists, I found Tara's work online while living in another city and absolutely fell in love with her colour realism. I followed her work on social media for about a year prior to moving to Ottawa. As soon as I moved here, I booked with Tara immediately and have never looked back. I have had countless sessions with her over the years, including a memorial tattoo for my precious dog, a humming bird, and many beautiful botanicals/florals, recently completing a sleeve. Her work is consistently stunning and I receive compliments nearly every day. Even pieces that are over half a decade old are still vibrant and crisp; I have had many people assume that they are still fresh. Tara's studio is clean, bright, and super comfortable. Since my first session with Tara over five years ago, I haven't even thought of going to another artist. She's my ride or die at this point. I can't imagine getting a tattoo from anyone else. She is incredibly talented and also honest, sharing ideas and her professional opinion on placement and size, which I definitely needed to hear once or twice. In 2019, I was in the middle of having a lower back tattoo removed and needed someone to cover it up. That’s when I met Tara. At the time, she was adamant about not doing coverups, but after discussing the vision, she finally agreed to take on the project. We started with a beautiful realism piece featuring a rose and peony on my lower back. I was so impressed with her work that I asked her to cover up a shoulder tattoo, and eventually, she connected the two for a stunning partial back tattoo.
Tara has an incredible sense of aesthetics, and I regularly receive compliments on the beauty of the flowers and the vibrancy of the colors. Her artistic talent is undeniable, but what truly sets her apart is her dedication to her craft and her commitment to her clients. My tattoo journey started about five years ago. I looked at many different styles of tattooing, but it was after seeing Tara's amazing realism pictures, that I knew I had to have her... and only her! Tara has been absolutely incredible from the very start. She always listens to my ideas, and she always does her best to make it work, but if there is something that just [wont work], she's always 100% honest from the start. I trust her completely! You get what you pay for. Tara's artistic style of realism is worth every single penny. After my visits, and seeing her kick ass tattoos on my body, I can honestly say that I feel like a million bucks!

I met Tara about 5 years ago. I initially went to her after doing some online research and discovered her incredible talent.

Tara did one of my first tattoos and she left a lasting impression of professionalism. She was gentle in her application and made the experience very positive. She was the first artist to ever tell me that the tattoo I wanted wouldn’t work the way I wanted it. As a new tattoo client I didn’t know how important trusting your artist was. She managed to take what would have been an impossible tattoo and gave me my first really beautiful tattoo.
Fast forward ten years, I was able to sneak into Tara’s books, let’s be real, she’s a popular lady, and started working on my first full sleeve. Tara’s work is delicate, detailed, and powerful. Tara is a talented, lovely human. I have several pieces by her and she never fails to amaze me -- she can take an idea and elevate it beyond what you thought possible. I first found Tara six years ago when I was looking to get a new tattoo for myself and get my daughter’s first tattoo, for her 16th birthday! While all of her work is incredible, for me, it was the leg of roses that just absolutely floored me and I knew I needed a tattoo with her!! Fast forward six years, my daughter and I each have two completed tattoos with Tara and right now I’m working on a massive lower back cover up with her. This cover-up has been 5 years in the making. Tara and I had a lot of honest conversation is about expectations and reality and she was incredible with her time and guidance throughout the years. Now we’re here and wow was it ever worth the time and effort! My realism botanical cover-up with family birth month flowers is a dream! It’s even better then I thought possible, and the bar was already set very high! The other amazing part of this all is we’ve become genuine friends in the process! I would recommend Tara over and over again! Incredible high integrity masterful artist, beautiful boutique shop, and wicked awesome personality! Definitely a 10+

After losing my wife in June 2021, I wanted to memorialize her in some way and decided there was no better way than to get a tattoo. With this being my first, I had no idea what to expect. After talking with many friends, and browsing people's websites, my choice was easy. I wanted something floral and after seeing Tara's work, there was no competition. When the day finally arrived, I was pleasantly surprised with how nice, bright, clean and calm her location was. Again. This was my first tattoo and was expecting some stereotypical crazy, heavy metal kinda thing lol. Tara went through everything with me, explained her rates, and how she would like to proceed with the design we decided on. Once she started the conversation just flowed between us. Tara is an incredibly open minded person that you just enjoy talking to. I had to get it finished in 2 sessions and honestly after seeing what she had started, I couldn't wait to get it finished. Everywhere I go people are blown away by my piece, and I have given her contact info to many people who ask for it after seeing it. I get another piece done by Tara soon and again I can't wait. I cannot recommend Tara enough and especially if you want something floral, then you'd be silly to go anywhere else. Tara thank you so much for the piece. No one could have memorialized someone more beautifully. Thank you and I'll see you soon!

I can’t say enough positive things about Tara Timoon. From my first tattoo with her at her previous location, to my 4th session on a full arm sleeve with her at her new studio (which is bright and clean and welcoming) Tara has been friendly, professional, and extremely caring.
